Managing deterioration (RESTORE2 and NEWS2)

RESTORE2 is a life-saving physical deterioration and escalation tool, used in nursing and care homes throughout the UK. RESTORE2mini online training, launched by South West Academic Health Science Network and Blue Stream Academy, enables care home and domiciliary care professionals to gain new deterioration management skills and improved knowledge and understanding of the people for whom they care.

REACTMH® Active Listening Skills conversation training enables Managers/Supervisors to identify and engage in meaningful wellbeing conversations, using “active listening” techniques, to identify and support colleagues struggling with pressures that are impacting their daily mental health.

St Margaret’s Hospice is offering training for Syringe Drivers

This session is suitable for all staff who use syringe drivers in their role.

It is a patient-focussed session covering why and when syringe drivers are used as well as considering communication with the patient and their loved ones. It is an interactive practical demonstration of syringe drivers currently in use across Somerset designed to increase confidence in setting up a syringe driver, common problems that arise and how to deal with them.

Verification of Expected Death

St Margaret’s Hospice is offering training for Verification of Expected Death

All sessions 10am to 12.30pm

This interactive session is for health care professionals who may need to verify an expected death. It covers the role, responsibilities as well as the terminology and the legal position. It gives an opportunity to explore how to support families and loved ones as well as how to care for someone after they have died.
