We are looking for Support Workers to join our Services based in Yeovil on either a permanent, full time or part time basis (various hours available). We can be flexible with the number of hours offered and will consider applications from all interested candidates. Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays.

You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £60.00 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual.

Our Services

This role will be supporting individuals who live in two Services based in Yeovil. We currently support three gentlemen in one service and a lady and a gentlemen in the other Service.

The people we support are full of life, friendly sociable, independent and fun! They like to be included in decisions given choices and options; not to be rushed and always treated with respect and dignity. They like lots of different activities, swimming, watching football, going out for coffee at different coffee shops, watching television, going to see live bands and WWF are just some of the activities they enjoy!

They are looking for their new Support Worker to be reliable, friendly, patience and in particular you to take them out to discos! They are also looking for support with maintaining a clean and tidy home, medication, personal finances and some personal care.

What does a Support Worker do?

As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:

Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
Excellent communication skills and Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
Community & Social Inclusion – supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
Personal care – helping people to get ready for the day.This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
