The government announced on 9th November 2021 that, following the consultation that began in September, they will be introducing a requirement that all CQC-regulated health and social care workers who work face-to-face with service users while providing care must be double-vaccinated against Covid-19.

This includes doctors, nurses, and domiciliary care workers, unless exempt.

This is in addition to the requirement that all care home workers must be vaccinated by November 11th 2021; however the new regulation is still subject to parliamentary approval and will not come into force until 1st April 2022.

The policy does not apply to the booster vaccine or the flu vaccine at this time.
