Following the announcement of the additional £388.3m infection control and testing funding on the 30 September, Additional funding to help adult social care this winter – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) the Department of Health and Social Care published the guidance, conditions and allocations for the extended Infection Control and Testing fund on 21 October 2021.

As per the grant conditions, the funding will be paid in two instalments, the first of which will be issued very shortly to Local Authorities.

Following the transition of Test and Trace to UKHSA, the payment for the testing part of the fund will come from UKHSA, with the IPC and vaccines components from DHSC.

Somerset County Council is currently reviewing the guidance in detail, and will be preparing an allocation/ distribution process and template as per previous rounds of funding.  Further information to follow next week.
