Driving Tests for Critical Workers

We are aware that there are significant backlogs/wait lists for driving tests currently. We wanted to ensure that care providers are aware of that, as a critical worker, they are eligible for emergency driving tests – Emergency driving tests for critical workers – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

We are also conscious that many providers have looked at overseas recruitment and that staff are permitted to use their overseas driving licences for up to 1 year. To ensure that they are still able to work (a requirement of visas), we actively encourage homecare providers to be as proactive in possible in mitigating potential risks here to your workforce/staffing.
