Pharmacy services survey

We are looking for your views to make sure that community pharmacies in Somerset are providing the right services for local people. Health and Wellbeing Boards are required, every three years, to make sure that communities have equal access to pharmacy services in their areas. This is called a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) – a draft PNA has been published at www.somersetintelligence.org.uk/pna.html. As part of the process, we’re running a consultation from Wednesday 27 April until Saturday 25 June. You can complete the online survey here. The survey is primarily aimed at stakeholders such as neighbouring Health and Wellbeing Boards, but we welcome comments from anyone so please share widely with your contacts.

Reconditioning and Increasing Physical Activity

We were joined by Lianne Clarke at the Provider Webinar to discuss reconditioning and increasing physical activity. She has provided a number of resources to share with you:

Details about the Move More and Live Longer Better training workshops:
A two part workshop supporting workplaces to have meaningful conversations about physical activity with older adults and people living with health conditions. Full details here.

Links to resources from the Richmond Group of Charities that sit behind the national We Are Undefeatable campaign. This campaign, launched in 2020 is all about encouraging and empowering people to move more in ways that work for them whilst living with health conditions.
Other resources are available at www.sasp.co.uk/health and you can contact Lianne Clarke (lclarke@sasp.co.uk) with any questions about the support SASP can offer.

Mental Health Awareness Week

In this week's catch-up film, Clinton discusses loneliness ahead of Mental Health Awareness Week on 9-15 May.

Loneliness affects many of us at one time or another, and we know that loneliness can be both the driver for and a product of poor mental health.

In this video, Clinton visits the Men in Sheds project in Taunton. They offer a place where men can come together, build things, get involved in community projects, learn new skills, or pass skills on to others.

For more details, see: Mental Health Awareness Week 2022 - Mental Health UK (mentalhealth-uk.org)

There are also health and care worker specific mental health resources on our Somerset Emotional Wellbeing Staff Hub.
