Results of the Care Provider Survey 2023

Back at the end of April we launched our 2023 Care Provider Survey which ran throughout May 2023 as part of gathering feedback from Somerset's care providers about the current health and care system support offer and response available to our care sector colleagues.

Results from the survey have now been analysed and we were keen to share these with you today: Somerset Care Provider Survey 2023

We are really grateful to all those who took the time to respond to this survey - thank you for your valuable contributions and insights.

Overall, 73% of providers who responded indicated they feel well or very well supported by the local system, which is positive to hear but there were some clear areas where you have indicated more opportunity for improvement which is extremely helpful.

Throughout July we will be sharing and discussing the results further with the Registered Care Providers Association, as well as in health and care meetings so we can reflect on and respond to the themes and needs that have emerged. We will share the outcomes of this with you in a 'we asked, you said, we did' response in August 2023.

CQC Care Provider Inspection Outcomes - June 2023

Somerset Council would like to formally recognise and send our congratulations to the following care providers in Somerset that achieved good ratings in latest inspection reports published last month (June 2023):
  • Oake Meadows Care Home (Taunton)
  • Cherry Trees Care Home (Burnham)
  • able2achieve Office - domiciliary care agency
  • Dementia Care TLC - domiciliary care agency
We know how hard our care colleagues work to provide personalised and compassionate care for the people they support and recognise the many demands and challenges continuing to face the sector.
Such inspection outcomes are a great achievement and help Somerset to continue to deliver the high-quality care we all aspire for.

How social care providers can apply for the Digital Social Care Records (DSCR) funding

The digital team have Year 2 funding (this is the last year of funding) available for 50% initial implementation and running costs for a year (up to a max of £4,500 per setting), this is only available for the adoption of digital social care records by CQC registered adult social care providers.

The funding is not recurrent and so may not suit all provider organisations.
Attached is the poster with email contact details to Somerset Council at digitisationinsocialcare@somerset.gov.uk who are managing the funding on our behalf, and the DiSC Expression of Interest link below:

Suicide – Language Guide
