Delegation of Insulin - bitesize webinars

Dear Colleagues,

NHS England would like to invite you to join Delegation of insulin administration Bitesize Sessions being held to support Community Nurses and improve outcomes for patients.

These are challenging times for community nursing teams and now more than ever, entrusting insulin administration to others will give the frontline workforce greater flexibility. Safely delegating the administration of insulin to healthcare support workers and similar roles will release registered nurses to maximise their competence elsewhere. In equipping non-registered staff with skills which can help to reduce unnecessary delays in delivering insulin, it will also improve the quality of care for patients. We encourage all providers of health and social care to take up this opportunity.

As well as encouraging our community teams to adopt the national framework for the delegation of insulin administration, each 30 minute bitesize session will focus on a different aspect of this, discussing best practice from a number of exemplar sites and offer an opportunity for a live Q&A with those who have already implemented it.

Please could you share this opportunity with your colleagues, networks and communication teams. We endeavour to make this process as easy and effortless as possible so please use this email and the social media posts below to share.

To Join these bitesize sessions book your place here: https://www.events.england.nhs.uk/events
